Missouri's only whitewater river. The upper St. Francis through Millstream Gardens / Silver Mines (the Tiemann Shut-ins) is a 2.3-mile, rain-dependent Class II–IV pool-drop run that spikes and drops fast (USFS; American Whitewater #2921). Below the whitewater it mellows and floats more like a normal stream toward Sam A. Baker State Park and Wappapello Lake.
