War Eagle Creek
Float Trip Guide.
Build a spring river day around Withrow Springs: a paddle through wooded bends, time on a park trail, and no need to turn it into an expedition.

Eddy reads the gauge, the trend, and the forecast and writes a fresh take a few times a day. Use it as one input alongside your own judgment, the outfitter you’re renting from, and current advisories from the agency that manages your stretch.
Why the War Eagle Creek is different
War Eagle Creek is a good reason to keep a little flexibility in your spring calendar. When the water cooperates, its wooded bends and limestone bluffs offer a northwest Arkansas outing with a smaller-creek feel. Withrow Springs State Park makes a natural place to start researching the trip and a useful base for time off the water.
This is a rain-dependent plan. A date in July does not guarantee enough water just because the photographs look inviting. Start with the Hindsville gauge, confirm the launch and shuttle, and keep a park walk or a visit to War Eagle Mill as the backup that still makes the drive worthwhile.
- Withrow Springs provides a recognizable river-access area along with camping and trails.
