Bryant Creek is a wild, spring-influenced Ozark float that flows south about 42.6 miles from near Vera Cruz/Vanzant in Douglas County to its confluence with the North Fork of the White River near Tecumseh in Ozark County, just above Norfork Lake. It is a gentle Class I stream (a few Class I-II riffles) with clear pools, bluffs, gravel bars, willow jungles and rock shoals, prized for smallmouth bass and goggle-eye fishing. It is less spring-fed and lower-volume than the neighboring North Fork - narrower, with more obstacles and strainers - so it drags in drought and can turn dangerous quickly after local rain. It pairs naturally with the North Fork of the White River, into which it empties, letting paddlers extend a trip onto the larger, more reliably spring-fed river. Gradient averages ~5.8 ft/mi. The most popular reach is Sycamore/Hodgson Mill to Warren Bridge.
